Everyone at Keilor Village seems to have a zest for life. Whether they’re doing some gentle exercises, sharing a meal with neighbours, or chatting with the hairdresser, the spacious community centre has something for everyone.
One of the other great things about the community here is that people look out for each other and are always ready to share a friendly smile. It’s a lovely, supportive environment where people are happy to try new things and have a good laugh.
Of course, you’re also free to enjoy some ‘me time’ in your own private space at home.
You’ll need to bring a calendar or a diary with you if you come and live at Keilor Village—there are so many social get-togethers, activities, events and services on offer, it’s hard to keep up!
Some of the more popular events are the Monday night ‘Picture Nights’, where both recent-release movies and some of the classics are screened, weekly resident dinners or happy hours, and aqua-aerobics and gentle exercise classes.
There is also a craft group, as well as ‘bingo and billiards’ nights, indoor and outdoor bowls games, card games, dancing… the list goes on.
In the heart of Melbourne’s well-established northwest, the village is close to an array of beautiful parks and reserves, shops and health services, and many other amenities.
If you enjoy walking or cycling—or just taking in the great outdoors—there are many nearby trails along Taylors Creek and the Maribyrnong River, as well as the expansive Brimbank Park.
Keilor Golf Club is also just a short drive away. Taylor’s Lake Shopping Centre is only a minute up the road, with a supermarket, fresh food market, cafés, a convenience store and a medical centre. Watergardens Shopping Centre and train station are just a little further.
If you’re looking to catch up with friends or family, get some exercise, try a new hobby or simply relax, there are certainly plenty of options here.
Among the many facilities in the large, modern community centre are a coffee lounge, dining room, bar area, indoor heated pool and spa, dance floor, craft room and billiards room. Just outside are a bowling green, a very productive hobby garden and a well-equipped workshop.
To make life that little bit more convenient, there is also small kiosk, a hair salon that’s open two days a week and a clinic for visiting health professionals.
You can choose to live in a spacious two-bedroom villa or take advantage of the extra help available in a serviced apartment.
All of the villas feature a stylish, well-equipped kitchen, built in wardrobes robes and a bright, open-plan living and dining area to make entertaining easy, many with a rear courtyard or outdoor area. There are large bathrooms with a separate toilet. There are also plenty of practical touches, like ample storage space, ensuites and lock up garages.
All villas and apartments have a 24-hour emergency call system.
Spacious studio serviced apartments are a great option for those who want to continue living independently with a little extra assistance.
Three delicious meals are provided daily, with a weekly cleaning and laundry service as well. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and sugar are also supplied to serviced apartment residents. So there is more time to relax and make the most of the day.
All of the homes at Keilor Village have a 24-hour emergency system for your security and safety. There are also staff on-site during normal business hours who are happy to assist residents. Importantly, for added peace of mind there is a nurse onsite weekdays or other qualified medical professionals as the case may be, for resident consultations.
Appointments can be made with health professionals who visit the village on a regular basis. We can also arrange for deliveries of prescription medicines and other healthcare products from the local pharmacy. There is a village bus for your convenience, for visits to nearby shopping centres and for day trips and other outings.
